One of our first acts as a human being is to use our voice. We cry out, we shout ourselves into the world, and as a child we are talkative and full of questions. Human beings communicate in all kinds of ways, and our voice is one of the most powerful and individual. Even those who do not have the power of speech, retain the power of their voice. Yet over time, we know that there are some environments all over the world and in many homes and schools or workplaces, where your voice is not valued or listened to. Much like the elemental human resource touch, we begin to suppress and not use this most basic of resources. The consequences are evident all over the world, and easily demonstrated as something many women quickly adapt to not using.
