i am the buffer zone
i'm here but you don't know
is it because you are looking
but not really seeing?
i have something to say
but you are not listening
you are just hearing, aren't you?
i am the buffer zone
you must see and listen to me
for the time is near
and we will burn in the flames of injustice

I am the buffer zone
I am isolated
I am lonely!
No one likes me ! No one ! Not one!
Is it because of the soldiers who are protecting me
From the community I used to belong?
Or is it because... I ask too much!?
Because I ask for your identity?
Who am I ? Who am I ?
I am you anger
Your frustration that you brought
I can't feel anything! I CAN'T
I'm the paper you painted with your sorrow !
I divided this island...
This ... beautiful island
I am the dark side
Because ,
I am the buffer zone

My sweet Cyprus
we belong
but my barbed wires wouldn’t match your beauty
these ugly bullet holes would look odd..
And my hands could never hold yours
as I am jailed in this timeless space where
no children come to play
and no songs could be heard..

I’ve been hiding here for so long
watching you behind broken windows
hiding under these ruins..
and now that I speak to you
heard some fools say this is my last chance
of reaching you..
fools being fools they don’t know
this young girl before you—
my messenger,
she is my voice.
She is what I believe in.
The ARMY of messengers
Them I will never stop sending –
Till we are one.

i just wrote some random thoughts i had in my mind. kind of a weird poem i think.


would you like to switch places?
i dont really like my job here
or maybe not switch
just give me a hand to get out of here.

i want to leave this place
i promise it wont be left empty
as long as i am out of here
life will return just like before.

come on you blue metro line!
i want to be part of the metro zone
i am a line i can do it
I dont want to be called buffer zone.

help me stop what i m now doing
i want to bring people close to each other
no more bad feelings
just love and peace

please get me out of here!

VOICING THE BUFFER ZONE

I am the buffer zone,
I was born in 1974
Although I was planned long before

I am thirty four years old
And people who cross me daily, are BOLD

I cause pain and fear
And many cries everyday, I hear

I wish to die soon
So that people can eat all together at noon

I am the buffer zone
And when I disappear
New life on the island of Cyprus will appear
