This year in early July the ESC, together with T/C NGO Kayad Community Centre, is offering a different kind of summer programme from the ESC camps of the past. What things will be different?
* Firstly there will be one camp with an age range 17-21(see attached info for details)
* This time the participants will spend 3 days staying near Kyrenia doing activities around there, then 3 days in Kritou Terra!
* As before, this is going to be a great chance to meet people and make new friends, especially people of your age from the other community! This time though, the programme is going to get you thinking about the issues of peace building and the barriers to peace, as well as issues of the environment and creating a sustainable Cyprus.
* This is going to be a camp for young people who really want to change things for the better in Cyprus (both environmentally and politically), people who are frustrated with the ineffectiveness of political processes on both these issues and want to send a clear message to the older generations from the younger ones.
* We intend the conclusions / recommendations of the youth involved in the camp to be widely publicised and also presented to policy-makers, so the ideas you come up with during the camp really can make a difference!
* At the same time you are going to learn some valuable skills and ideas that will stay with you for the rest of your life.
Sounds interesting? Have a look at the attached information and send the form to the email address shown by the 15th June 2009. Even if this is not your style or you are not in the age-range, please send this on to other young people who you think will be attracted to this kind of camp.
Hope to see you!
